I am the great great granddaughter of Harriett and John Beard from about 1853. They had one son; Samuel Brice Beard. John died in 1863 in Bathurst and Harriett stayed on in Hill End until 1872 before moving to Narellan. She had interests in a number of mines eg Carroll and Beard.
